The flagship product from Nu-Roads Environmental Inc. is this top quality blasting mat. Called the Ultra Blastmat, this product has virtually no break-up problems commonly associated with traditional blasting mats. The benefits are easy, less costly job site cleanup and lower cost per blast due to the extended service life of the Ultra Blastmat versus other blasting mats.

The Ultra Blastmat features

The flexibility of the Ultra Blastmat is exceptional.

Large 12 inch O.D. lifting/grab ring made of 1¼ inch diameter forged steel bar providing a highly visible operator target and ease of handling during use
Composition of heavy truck tire tread throughout
We use only new ¾ inch diameter galvanized steel cable to assure rust-free flexibility during use
End plate design maintains mat shape during placement on blast site
New forged steel clamps are torqued to specification to insure long mat life
Unique hole design facilitates high mat flexibility while protecting cables and treads
Overlapping tread design ensures a tight seal on rough terrain

Ultra Blastmat standard size is

10 feet (3.3m) wide by 15 feet (4.5m) long

LT Blastmats roll up for more compact storage

The LT Blastmat is a new, lighter addition to the Nu-Roads line-up. LT Blastmats are made using light truck tires and the same high quality construction methods as the Ultra Blastmat.

LT Blastmat features are:

Large 10 inch diameter by 1¼ inch thick forged steel operator target ring
Light truck tires used throughout the construction
We use new five-eighths inch diameter galvanized steel cable
New forged steel clamps are torqued to specification to insure long mat life
Specialized assembly process protects the cable and improves the mat’s flexibility
Overlapping tread design ensures a tight seal on rough terrain

LT Blastmat standard size is

8½ inches (21cm) thick
7 feet (2.1m) wide by 15 feet (4.5m) long
Approximately 38 pounds per square foot (186kg per square metre)

Sidewalls used as hold-downs for large tarps

Sidewalls used as a ballast for large road cones

Sidewalls from truck tires may be used as ballast for road cones or weights for holding down large tarps, etc. Each weighs approximately 25 pounds.

Sidewalls can be tied together using ropes to form large tarp hold-downs for piles of feed or hay. In this application the sidewalls are superior to car tires, requiring far less storage space in the off-season. Approximately 35 sidewalls will stack in a pile only five feet high. And sidewalls will not collect rain which eliminates possible mosquito breeding areas and further propagation of the West Nile virus.
